Personal injury.

Ms. Ryterski also handles personal injury cases. Personal injury includes cases where someone has been hurt due to a car accident, slip and fall, or otherwise injured due to the negligence of another party. In these types of cases, it is important to remember to immediately receive medical treatment for the injury and keep receipts of everything. If the accident involves vehicles, make sure a police report is made. Obtain all of the important information from the other parties involved, including the name, address and phone number. Also, write down the license number, make and type of car, including the year. Obtain the driver’s license number of the other parties involved. Jot down any information regarding statements made by other parties.

With witnesses, obtain their full names, addresses, work and home phone numbers.

Call your insurance agent and inform them of the accident. Remember to seek medical treatment and document the days missed from work.

Auto accident cases and other personal injuries are handled on a contingent fee basis. That means that you do not owe the lawyer a fee unless she is successful in resolving your claim for a settlement or award. The attorney fee is one-third of the settlement. Sometimes, costs are incurred to obtain copies of bills and records. These costs are deducted out of your final settlement.


Traffic and DWI.

Ms. Ryterski represents defendants in minor traffic cases, including speeding, driving while suspended, traffic stop violations and DWI matters. The price range for these services vary depending on the complexity and the number of court appearances required. Typically, if no court appearance is required on a minor traffic citation, the fee will be less than $100. Social Security Disability.

Ms. Ryterski also practices in the area of social security disability. If you believe that you are no longer able to work due to a disability and that the inability to work is expected to last at least 12 months, you may be eligible for social security disability. Remember that the impairment must be of such severity that you are not only unable to perform your previous work, but cannot, considering your age, education and work experience, engage in any other kind of substantial gainful work which exists.

Medical documentation from physicians will be necessary in order to file a claim for social security disability.


Simple wills and other estate planning matters.

Ms. Ryterski will assist persons wanting to prepare a final will and testament. Typically, these are completed within two visits. There is no need to gather all of your personal financial information. If you have an idea of your net value, that is sufficient.

In addition to simple wills, Ms. Ryterski drafts living wills (which are your declaration regarding types of life sustaining procedures), durable power of attorney (your direction to another for financial and other matters), and healthcare power of attorney (your direction to another to make decisions on your behalf regarding healthcare wishes).
